Prince William is already godfather to pal’s Rose and Hugh van Cutsem’s daughter Grace while Hugh’s brother William van Cutsem is one of George’s godfathers. Considering the strong link between both families, it’s believed Hugh and his wife Rose could very well be chosen.

Zara Phillips’ older brother Peter Phillips, 37, is extremely close to his cousin William. Meanwhile Zara was the only family member chosen to be Prince George’s godmother so perhaps the favour will be returned the second time around.

Alicia Fox-Pitt is one of the Duchess’ closes friends from her days at Marlborough College and the pair remain very close.

Prince William has stayed close to his uncle, Charles Spencer, and aunt, Jane Fellowes.

Wills’ old school chum Thomas van Straubenzee has been a constant fixture of support throughout his life. The Duke of Cambridge may repay him by granting him the ultimate title as godfather to his daughter.

Prince Harry might be missing the baptism due to charity work but that doesn’t mean the charming uncle won’t be a contender for the role of godfather.
