Princess Beatrice’s royal wedding is one of a number of upcoming events thrown into question amid the Coronavirus crisis.
Due to take place on May 29, the 31-year-old was set to wed her fiancée Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi at a low-key service at St James’ Palace, followed by a reception at Buckingham Palace.
But due to the current climate, things may turn out a little differently.
In an exclusive report from PEOPLE, the royals are working out the details for their nuptials behind the scenes, but we are yet to hear any official comments from the couple.
This would mark the third time Beatrice has had to reschedule her wedding plans, according to the publication, with a source revealing: “The date was changed two times to adjust. It will be smaller than the original plan.”
The reason for the other changes was reportedly down to her father, Prince Andrew’s involvement in the Jeffery Epstein case, which saw him attempt to defend himself in a BBC interview after being accused of having relations with a 17-year-old woman.
The interview was met with disgust, leading to Prince Andrew’s decision to step back temporarily from his role as various charities cut ties with the royal.

(Getty)It will no doubt be a disappointment for Beatrice if she is forced to reschedule her wedding again, however it would certainly be understandable given the challenges the world faces right now due to the coronavirus.
And granted, Beatrice will have a ceremony of some sort eventually.
Earlier this year, it was revealed the Princess and Edoardo had chosen a very special best man to take the reigns at their wedding – Edo’s three-year-old son Wolfie.

Beatrice and Edo started dating in 2018, and announced their engagement soon after in September 2019.
A royal wedding is exciting at the best of times, of course, so the news that we were to expect another regal display on May 29 was welcome news to fans across the world.

That said, it’s important and encouraging to see the royals take the global health crisis seriously, and if they can wait a few more months before tying the knot – we certainly can.
