Princess Beatrice has shared touching words about the Queen while attending the Big Jubilee Lunch over the Platinum Jubilee weekend.
Organised by Westminster Council and held at Paddington Recreation Ground in London for local volunteer and community groups who helped during the COVID-19 pandemic, the event was attended by both Princess Beatrice, 33, and her younger sister Princess Eugenie, 32.
The eldest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson stunned in a Saloni cobalt blue ruffle-trimmed chiffon midi dress, while Eugenie opted for a Roksanda Adriana cap-sleeve silk-satin dress in burgundy.
During the festivities, both royals took time to speak with members of the public, and Beatrice had a particularly touching moment with one attendee when the conversation turned to her royal relatives.
After introducing herself as Beatrice, the guest asked how she and Her Majesty are related, to which Beatrice explained that the Queen is her “granny”.
“Yes, she’s my granny. I’m very, very lucky,” she said.
This weekend, the Queen marked a milestone 70 years on the throne with a marvellous slew of celebrations.
From Trooping the Colour, to Her Majesty’s surprise Buckingham Palace balcony appearance following the Pageant, the Platinum Jubilee provided royal fans with many glamorous photos and adorable moments of their favourite family.
Yesterday, Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge delighted fans even further by sharing several unseen photos from the celebrations to their official social media accounts.
The photos ranged from Catherine’s eye-catching Alessandra Rich pleated blue polka-dot dress, the Cambridge kids during Trooping the Colour, a beaming Prince George standing alongside his great-grandmother for her surprise balcony appearance, and more.
Accompanying the behind-the-scenes glimpses was an official statement from the duke and duchess.
“What a fantastic weekend of celebrations,” the caption read. “Seeing people across the nation coming together with family, friends and loved ones has been extremely special.
“Thank you to everyone who turned out to show their gratitude to The Queen and her inspiring 70 years of leadership. From the crowds on the Mall to communities hosting street parties up and down the country, we hope you had a weekend to remember.”
The statement ended with a special acknowledgement directed towards Prince Louis, whose excitable antics throughout the festivities delighted royal fans everywhere.
“We all had an incredible time, especially Louis… 👀 W & C,” the post concluded.
