With Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson as parents, Beatrice and Eugenie are no strangers to controversy. But now the two siblings themselves are caught in the latest royal rivalry.
Until recently the pair were inseparable. But with their lives taking them on different paths and with their constant need to avoid being seen as “fringe royals”, the once close pair are suddenly at odds.
“Since Kate arrived on the scene they’ve had to fight for the little bit of limelight that’s left,” a royal insider tells Woman’s Day.
“And recently that battle has become a bitter one,” the insider adds.
In fact, what may have started as sibling rivalry between Beatrice, 26, and Eugenie, 25, has escalated into an all-out feud.
At the centre of the controversy is the fact Eugenie has always felt jealous of Beatrice. It goes as far back as when Beatrice was made Head Girl at school, and Eugenie was not. And it’s getting worse.
A source tells Woman’s Day that the sister’s relationship is fraught with jealously and tension
“The relationship between Bea and Eugenie has changed a lot in the past year, and now things are coming to a head,” our source says.
Adding further fuel to the fire is the fact that Bea has always been the apple of dad Prince Andrew’s eye.
