Princess Anne, the Queen’s daughter, will spend four days in Australia, supporting various charities and aid projects, before travelling to Vanuatu for five days.
A spokesman for the Queensland Government told news.com.au that the 64-year-old royal was making a private visit.
“The Princess Royal is making a private trip to visit charities and organisations with which she is involved, including Save the Children and Riding for the Disabled.
“While not making any public appearances, her visit will be very much appreciated by the many people with whom she will spend time.”
Princess Anne was last in Australia in 2009 when she attended a memorial service for the 171 victims of the Black Saturday bushfires.
