How Prince William is spending his 34th birthday

This year, the Duke of Cambridge won’t be waking up breakfast in bed at home with cheeky George and little Charlotte.

Although one might expect Prince William to celebrate the morning of his birthday alongside his loving wife Duchess Catherine and their two beautiful children, the handsome royal will, in fact, be waking up in France.

On Monday evening – the eve of his 34th birthday – the dapper chap cheered from the sidelines of a soccer match between England and Slovakia, situated in the picturesque French city of Saint Etienne.

The Prince, also president of the Football Association, flew to the Saint-Exupery airport in Lyon to arrive just in time for the match, where he cheered excitedly alongside chairman Greg Dyke in a dark blue suit adorned with a striped blue, red and white tie.

Before kick-off, the second in line to the British throne joined in on a resounding chorus of the English National Anthem, God Save the Queen.

Wills and chairman Greg Dyke enjoyed each others company from their private box.

It was a tense match, but after play the score was 0 – 0.

After a good night’s rest, the father of George, two, and Charlotte, one, will make his way back to England in the early morning, where we’re sure his loving family will be waiting with presents, cake and a whole lot of cuddles.

The royal’s 34th birthday marks his third year as a father, and incidentally sits just days after the UK and the US celebrate Father’s Day.

Wills spent the morning of Father’s Day with children at a Heads Together breakfast event.

In celebration of the special day, the proud papa spent the morning at a Heads Together Father’s Day breakfast with fellow dads, mentors and children, bringing to light the importance of mental health.

“Today I celebrate my third Father’s Day as a father,” he wrote in an article on the Heads Together site.

“For me it is a day not just to celebrate how fortunate I am for my young family, but to reflect on just how much I’ve learned about fatherhood and the issues facing fathers in all walks of life.”

“In particular, it is a time to reflect on my responsibility to look after not just the physical health of my two children, but to treat their mental needs as just as important a priority.”

William will spend the rest of his special day “privately” with his family in their home at Anmer Hall, Norfolk.

The father-of-two will blow out his 34 candles with the help of his two sweet children.
