At the moment, it would be tough to tell who is more excited: Duchess Catherine and Prince William about meeting their brand new nephew, or their three-young children about meeting their brand new cousin.
In a sweet moment just hours after it was announced that Duchess Meghan has welcomed her first child with Prince Harry, Kate and William have shared their excitement by posting a sweet tribute to the Royal Baby on Instagram.
And the message makes it patently clear that they’re just as ecstatic about this new family member as the baby’s parents themselves!
Re-posting the @SussexRoyal Instagram announcement revealing Meghan and Harry’s baby to be a boy, Kate and Wills said in the statement: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted with the news of the birth of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s son today.”
They then answered the question everyone had wondered – have they met Baby Sussex?
Well, the answer is a resounding no – for now that is!
“[William and Kate] look forward to meeting the latest addition to the family,” the statement ended.
We can only imagine that the pair will be hoping for their first cuddle with the new baby before we know it.
While the sweet message from the royals came a few hours after the fact, fans have flocked to the post to share their excitement, with thousands also wishing their “congratulations” to the couple.
“Congratulations to the new Auntie, Uncle, and cousins!!❤️”, wrote one fan.
Another wrote: “Very glad that both the royal family and the Spencer side of the family were included in the official announcements.”

Meanwhile, another royal family member, Prince Andrew, has also shared his well-wishes with the new parents, writing on Instagram: “Congratulations to The Duke and Duchess of Sussex on the safe delivery of your baby boy!”
In addition, Buckingham Palace released a statement last night (Australian time) saying that members of the royal family, including the Queen, Prince Charles and Camilla had all been informed of the news, saying they were “delighted”.
Meanwhile the Duchess’s mother Doria Ragland was confirmed to be by Meghan and Harry’s side at Frogmore Cottage, and was “overjoyed” at the news.
As per Royal Baby tradition, an easel has also now been placed outside Buckingham Palace announcing the birth to the public.
The easel will be on display for the next 24 hours before being sent to privy council.
