The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry launched the start of the Tour de France in Leeds, Yorkshire in front of huge crowds.

Kate, dressed in the same Erdem coat-dress she wore during her tour of New Zealand, cut the ribbon at Harewood House to officially start the race.

Thousands watched to see almost 200 riders begin their 23-day cycling journey.

The Duchess later presented Marcel Kittel with the yellow jersey in Harrogate, England after he won stage one of the Tour de France.
