Prince William and Kate Middleton have officially renamed their charity, which they previously shared with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The renaming comes following news that the two royal couples would part ways from the Royal Foundation, with Meghan and Harry creating their own separate charity while Wills and Kate would continue to run the existing organisation.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex revealed the name of their new project last month, and now Wills and Kate have done the same.
According to documents published by the Companies House, the Royal Foundation will now be known as The Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
This rings similar to the name Meghan and Harry chose for their own charity, which was revealed to be Sussex Royal The Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
While the charities are similar by name, the two royal couples have different plans for their charitable projects.
According to a report from PEOPLE, a source revealed the pair were on “divergent paths”, and their charity work would reflect that.
And while many thought the split could suggest there was discontent between the two couples, the source said this was not the case.
“A review of The Royal Foundation is something that had previously been announced,” they told the publication.
“This is part of [the couples’] diverging paths, which hastened a look at the foundation.”
They explained that it was simply a “natural progression” for the two couples to mould their own paths in their charitable work.
At the time the Royal Foundation’s split was announced, the Palace shared a statement explaining that the royals would continue to work together.
“Both couples will continue to work together on projects in the future, including on The Foundation’s mental health program, Heads Together,” the statement read.
“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are incredibly proud of what they have achieved together through The Royal Foundation. They are especially proud to have established a charity that has had, and will continue to have, significant long-lasting impact, changing lives for the better.”

It is understood many of the charitable projects and patronages the royals currently work on will fall under the umbrella of their respective new charities.
For Harry and Meghan, this will likely include the Duchess’ Hubb Community Kitchen project, as well as her current project with Smart Works, which has seen her create an entire fashion line of workwear for women.
Prince Harry’s Invictus Games will also likely fall under the Sussex Royal charity.
Meanwhile, Prince William and Kate Middleton are also expected to continue their charity work under the renamed Royal Foundation.
Earlier this month, the couple competed at the Kings Cup Regatta in the UK in support of the Royal Foundation and its projects.
The regatta itself reflected Kate’s love for sport and the outdoors, which she and William have vocalised as being important for mental and physical well-being – both for adults and children.
With their new name finalised, we’re excited to see what else the pair will do with the charity!
