“Members of our families; our regiments; our nations; all sacrificed everything for the lives we live today,” William said.

“During the First World War Britain and Belgium stood shoulder to shoulder. One hundred years on, we still stand together, gathering as so many do every night, in remembrance of that sacrifice.”

Eagle-eyed royal watchers adored Kate’s outfit…

Royal fans were delighted to see that Catherine, 35, wore her white Alexander McQueen outfit, which we first fell in love with during Princess Charlotte‘s christening in 2015.

She paired the coat-dress with a stunning hat which sat atop her low bun. The outfit was completed with a pair of grey heels and matching purse.

The royal couple joined soldiers at the Commonwealth War Graves Commission Ypres or Menin Gate Memorial.

They mingled with 200 descendants whose ancestors are named on the Gate.
