The holidays are the perfect opportunity to take stock of things – and for the royal family, they did this in quite the literal sense.
During their mid-term break in February, Prince William has revealed the surprisingly grounded activity he and Kate took their three children, Prince George, six, Princess Charlotte, four and Prince Louis, one, to see – and it certainly wasn’t for the faint of heart.
Speaking to guests at a sporting event over the weekend, the Prince told them that his children had been lending a helping hand at their country residence, Anmer Hall in Norfolk.
But it was a specific activity that caught everyone a little by surprise – they all went lambing!
According to PA Media, William said: “We’ve been lambing with the children this week.”
He added that while Charlotte wasn’t sure at first, her brothers got right into the thick of things.
“George was straight in there. Louis loves the tractors.”
“They love seeing the lambs and feeding the lambs,” he said.
The Prince also added that the activity wasn’t necessarily easy, lamenting: “Dairy farming — you are all seriously tough!”
William was attending a rugby match at Cardiff stadium when he shared the sweet anecdote.
He attended as part of his patronage to the Welsh Rugby Union, and joined thousands of fans as they watched Wales play France.
One of the guests attending on behalf of the Welsh Rugby Charitable Trust noted that Wills was “down to earth”.
“He said they’ve been lambing this week up in Norfolk. They want the children to see the country way of life as well as the city way of life.”
Meanwhile, Wills only had good things to say about the Union itself, and particularly about Welsh captain Alun Wyn Jones.
“The man is a legend,” he said.

The event marks the start of a very busy week for the Prince, who will make a public appearance at a London theatre show on Tuesday evening with Kate.
He and the Duchess will later travel to Ireland at the beginning of March where they’ll be partaking in a two-day tour.
Hopefully we’ll hear more anecdotes from their family holiday!
