Prince William and Prince Harry get dirty for a good cause

It’s not often we see members of the royal family laying pavement or painting a kitchen, but then again Prince William and his brother Harry have always been rule breakers.

The Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry traded in their crowns for some hard-hats as they visited a project very close to both their hearts yesterday.

The boys stopped by a derelict Manchester house, where British TV program DIY SOS was transforming the building into a home for homeless war veterans.

The royal brothers joined the builders and volunteers to help the project in its final stages.

An incredible eight buildings and 62 house facades have been refurbished as a suitable location for returning soldiers in need of a helping hand.

A support centre has also been created as part of the project which aims to help ex-servicemen and women with re-training and access to facilities that will assist with any mental health issues or physical injuries.

Prince William got artistic painting in the Kitchen.

While the future King got his hands dirty in the kitchen painting, his younger brother helped out in the garden laying pavement – and let’s just say that seeing Harry with a beard, in hi-vis and doing work in a garden is way too much for us to handle… phwoar!

Harry was happy to help laying the pavement!

Local resident and volunteer John Wilkinson spoke to the media after the royal visit to reveal how “brilliant” the boys were.

But poor John did have some serious concerns about the future of his marriage though, after seeing his wife chat with Prince Harry.

“They were gentlemen. They were flirting with Margaret more than anyone else. She was well chuffed with Harry. I think she is going to leave me,” he said.
