The final portrait in the series of stunning shots by Annie Leibovitz to celebrate Her Majesty’s milestone birthday has been revealed.
The stunning shot, taken by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz, shows Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh with his wife of 68 years at their beloved Windsor Castle just after Easter.
Alongside the image, the Queen has remarked: “He has, quite simply, been my strength and stay all these years.”
Their’s is a love story that has been broadcast, photographed, and documented since their very first correspondence in 1934, but one that has remained private and protected.
Since those letters in the 30s, a marriage was celebrated, as was the birth of four children, eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, and 63 years as Queen and Consort.
Always by her side, Prince Philip is The Queen’s number one confidante.
