Prince Harry’s girlfriend to attend George’s christening

Cressida Bonas quits dancing for Prince Harry

While there’s been much talk of Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, snubbing royal family members by cutting them from the guest list to Prince George’s christening, it has now emerged that one lucky young lady appears to have made the coveted VIP roster: Prince Harry’s squeeze, Cressida Bonas.

The 24-year-old socialite’s inclusion is sure to fan the flames of the feud that’s raged since the guest list was revealed for the christening, due to take place at Kensington Palace on Wednesday at 3pm. (1 am Thursday Australian time).

Royals who didn’t make the cut for the modest 60-guest baptism include William’s uncles, Prince Andrew and Edward, and his aunt, Princess Anne.

Prince Harry, 29, and Cressida have been dating for 18 months and while the couple shy away from media attention there has been much speculation about an imminent engagement.

With many believing it’s only a matter before such an announcement, this high-profile invitation to a private royal event gives more impetus to the rumour Cressida’s soon to be part of the family.

Nevertheless, Cressida’s attendance at the christening is yet to be confirmed, with reports she’s wary of being at the centre of any family rift.

“She’s very, very nervous, about everything, but Prince Harry is being very protective of her and wants her there,” a source told UK Mail.

Harry and Cressida were introduced to each other by his cousin, Princess Eugenie, in May last year.

As George’s christening draws near, speculation has mounted over who’ll be the future King’s godparents.

While Kensington Palace is staying tight-lipped, the front runners are said to be Pippa Middleton, Emilia d’Erlanger, Hugh van Cutsem and Fergus Boyd.
