Ever since Prince Harry was forced to issue a royal statement telling people to back off his new girlfriend Meghan Markle, he’s been worried about her security.
So much so, that he is reportedly poised to hire a bodyguard to protect her.
According to the Evening Standard, the Prince is said to be “deeply disappointed” he can’t protect her as much as he wants.
He apparently believes hiring a round-the-clock bodyguard at a cost of $100,000 a year from his own pocket would help solve the problem.
Harry is worried about the intense scrutiny on his new girlfriend.
“There have been initial discussions about this matter,” a security insider said.
“HRH has made it clear that he believes Miss Markle’s personal safety is paramount and that the behaviour of some elements of the media and press has been grossly unacceptable.”
“But in the end it comes down to a matter of cost, who is paying for what. Protecting the Royal Family is a hugely expensive business.”

Meanwhile, Harry has reportedly sought his brother’s approval on his new girlfriend.
Harry is said to have introduced his lady love to Prince William while she was secretly visiting London recently.
“William met Meghan,” an inside source confessed to Us Weekly.
“They got on fabulously. I’m sure Harry had been looking forward to introducing his girlfriend.” Adds another source, “Naturally, William is very happy for his brother.”
Meghan reportedly says her relationship is a fairy tale.
And Meghan couldn’t be happier herself. The US TV star of Suits fame reportedly gushed about her royal relationship to a friend.
According to People, Meghan told a friend she is “head over heels” and is “doing everything she can” to make the relationship work.
“She’s trying to figure out how to scale back what she puts out there about her life, including her social media and her website,” Meghan’s friend said.
“If she had to leave all that she’s doing in order for the relationship to work, she would without hesitation.”
The friend continued: “It’s been an absolute fairy tale for Meghan … it’s a very serious relationship and she wants a future with Harry.”
