Prince Harry is likely only days away from becoming a first-time dad, but he’s not showing any sign of slowing down after putting on an animated performance at one of his final hurrahs before welcoming the royal baby.
The Duke of Sussex looked to be in high anticipation for his brand new baby as he attended the opening of a new youth facility in East London on Thursday, April 11.
Speaking to children and guests at the event, Harry shared some sweet moments with them – and it’s clear his most important role yet will come very naturally.

A guest and old family friend of Harry’s, Lady Jayne Woodward, said Harry looked to be “just so excited” for his new baby to arrive.
“He will make the most wonderful father. We’ve known him since he was about 13 and he’s a great chap,” she told Hello!.
She also took the opportunity to present Harry a baby gift, although she kept mum on what it was!

During the event, Harry joined in fun games and sports played by the children, including a game of touch rugby with former England rugby coach Sir Clive Woodward, as well as officially opening a “Future Youth Zone”.
Another guest, Georgina Hart, who has cerebral palsy, was excited to present the royal with a silver birth certificate.
“It’s our way to say thank you for everything he has done – he’s actually my favourite royal,” she said.

Joining Harry at the event were members of the Barking and Dagenham Youth Forum.
The representatives spoke to Harry about their concerns around knife crime and discussed potential solutions.
The group spoke about artists who produce songs that have lyrics about crime, and which artists might be more positive for young people to listen to.
“A lot of people said Stormzy, a lot of people said Diplo. If someone like Stormzy started doing songs against knife crime, maybe that would reduce it,” said a guest.

Harry also spoke to a group who would be mentors at the Youth Zone – and Harry was clearly impressed.
“You are going to give them what you didn’t have. That’s quite cool,” he told them.
The dad-to-be was thrilled to see the group’s passion for supporting other young people, telling guests: “Young people out there are so excited. Doesn’t it feel great to add value? Look at the smiles on your faces!”

It is expected that Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan will welcome their first baby any day now – and it’s clear they’ll be embracing the special time as much as possible following an official palace statement revealing that the new parents would keep the birth private to start with.
“Their Royal Highnesses have taken a personal decision to keep the plans around the arrival of their baby private,” the statement read.
“The Duke and Duchess look forward to sharing the exciting news with everyone once they have had an opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family.”
We can’t say we blame them for taking some time away from the spotlight – we’ll wait patiently for those first photos of Baby Sussex!
