Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may be tying the knot at the end of the week, but that hasn’t stopped them from filling up their calendar in the days after the big event. In fact, the soon-to-be-married pair are scheduled to attend their very first event as man and wife just three days after their royal wedding.
According to royal reporter Omid Scobie, the duo will step out for Prince Charles’ 70th Birthday Patronage Celebration in the gardens of Buckingham Palace on May 22. The couple will join Prince Charles and his wife the Duchess of Cornwall for the event in the Buckingham Palace gardens.

“First royal garden party for Meghan Markle! Newlyweds #MeghanandHarry will attend The Prince of Wales’ 70th Birthday Patronage Celebration in the gardens of Buckingham Palace on May 22,” he wrote on Twitter. “The event will celebrate Charles’s patronages, military affiliations and others involved in charities he supports. Cadets and emergency services personnel who were first responders at the @ManchesterArena bombing on May 22, 2017, will also attend.”
The event will be the first official engagement that Meghan, 36, carries out as a fully-fledged member of the royal family. And what with all the hats, heels and jewels that come along with royal garden parties we couldn’t think of a better kick off!

The loved-up duo will, however, take some time out of their busy schedules to celebrate their union with a honeymoon at some stage.
Harry and Meghan are expected to jet off to the burnt sunsets of Namibia in southwest Africa for a delayed honeymoon following their May 19 nuptials, as confirmed by Travel + Leisure.
A source confirmed the location to the publication, revealing that the couple have chosen Namibia because the “southwestern African nation is filled with once-in-a-lifetime experiences.”
The royal couple are tipped to stay at Hoanib Valley Camp in Kaokoland, north-western Namibia.

According to The Sun, the newlyweds will likely stay at Hoanib Valley Camp in Kaokoland, north-western Namibia, which is “surrounded by mountains, sand dunes, and huge expanses of desert.”
The camp is apparently “the world’s only Africa-wide giraffe conservation organization,” and boasts a slew of ‘glamping’ amenities like ensuite bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers, WiFi, meals and local drinks.
Royal enthusiasts will note that Africa holds dear significance to the couple, who’ve made several trips to the continent. It was widely reported that Meghan joined Harry on a private trip to Botswana in 2016. They later returned, a year later, for the former Suits star’s 36th birthday.
