From wild child to the armed forces, there are many facets to Prince Harry and he is more than happy to embrace them all – and so does his wife Meghan Markle.
But while the Duchess may be used to the humanitarian Prince, our favourite incarnation has to be Prince Harry’s glory days when he had a major bad boy streak.
The cheeky Eton student
When he was 32, during a a tour of Lesotho and South Africa, he admitted during school he always wanted to be a “bad boy.”
“I didn’t enjoy school at all,” Harry told the kids at Ottery Youth Centre in Cape Town.
The youth centre looks after teens from troubled backgrounds – something Harry, who was educated at the prestigious Eton College, thinks would have been great for him growing up.
“I would have liked to come to a place like this. When I was at school I wanted to be the bad boy.”
During high school, Harry loved to party and smoke the occasional joint.
In 2002 when he was 17, a senior official at St James’s Palace confirmed that Prince Charles had sent him to to Featherstone Lodge Rehabilitation Center rehab centre as a cautionary tale
“We acknowledge that on several occasions last summer, Prince Harry experimented with cannabis. It is not that he had or has a serious problem, but he did take the drug,” the statement said at the time.
And who could forget those naked photos of Prince Harry partying in Las Vegas in 2012?
“It was probably a classic example of me probably being too much army, and not enough prince. It’s a simple case of that,” Harry said of the scandal.
But soon enough, he was using the experience as a learning curve.
Speaking at a charity event, he told kids not to bend to peer pressure, “It’s much harder to stand up for what you believe in.”
Being mean to Wills
While it’s clear the former troublemaker has come a long way, Harry still can’t resist teasing his big brother, William.
Speaking to the at-risk youths in 2015, he said: “If you’ve got an older brother that’s not into gangs, that’s a huge positive.”
“Older brothers are supposedly the cool ones. I’m a younger brother but I’m much cooler than my older brother.”
Prince Harry reigns supreme when it comes to delivering sass
The reformed flirty royal can always deliver major sass.
Like the time he tricked Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt into losing a race…
Let me add you on Facebook
Who wouldn’t want to poke Prince Harry?
Back in the day he went against royal protocol and set up a secret Facebook account under the pseudonym of Spike Wells.
Sadly, Spike had to shutdown his page after the infamous Vegas scandal.
We salute you, Captain Wales
Indeed, over the years the sixth in line to the British throne has won a legion of fans thanks to his very naughty but ultimately down-to-earth demeanour.
Royal watchers were wowed with his fearless nature when Harry served in the armed forces for ten years.
His time in the Army saw him put to bed his bad boy ways.
After his decade long service, Harry is focusing on his charity work…
And now he has the perfect partner-in-crime with Meghan Markle by his side.
And now, after three years of blissful marriage, we’ll continue to watch the parents thrive with their son Archie and soon-to-be baby daughter.
