It’s safe to say Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan have made a big impression after attending the WellChild Awards in London.

Harry has been a patron of the organisation that supports seriously ill children and their families since 2007, and his speech at the event in London likely wouldn’t have left a dry eye in the house.

“Every one of you is truly amazing. You have shown all of us what it means to be a champion — whether for yourself, your family, your community, or someone in need,” he said.

The awards are a big highlight for Harry. The Prince has been known to be a huge hit with kids at the annual event, bonding and joking around with them.

Speaking to 7-year-old Matilda Booth who suffers from spina bifida, Harry told her to, “Never hide that brilliant smile away”. He also made her a pinky promise with her to “never stop smiling”.

This was the first year Meghan has attended the awards with Harry, and the Duchess also didn’t hold back on connecting with the young children.

Matilda was clearly taken with the Duchess, gifting her a bunch of white roses and telling her to keep them in her memory box.

This was Meghan’s first time attending the awards.

“The stories that we’ve all just heard — of resilience, strength of spirit, and the power of working together — were without doubt, incredibly moving and motivating,” Harry said in his speech.

The event itself recognises some of the inspiring stories from the young children within the charity, as well as the incredible work from their caregivers.

Meghan wore a black pant-suit by Altuzarra for the event, not unlike the stunning black tuxedo dress she wore to the musical Hamilton last week.
