Prince Harry and Ed Sheeran are an undeniable dream team, and they’ve just proved as much with a brand new comedic video, which they’ve released in light of World Mental Health Day.

The quirky clip, which was shared on @SussexRoyal’s Instagram TV account on Thursday evening, features Ed getting a little spruce up ahead of his big meeting with Prince Harry.

Arriving at his “home” (which has since been revealed to be the home of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank), Prince Harry greets the music sensation, welcoming him into the cosy royal cottage.

Next, the duo are seen sitting together at a table together, discussing the project they intend to work on … although Ed and Harry’s ideas don’t seem quite as aligned as one might think.

Speaking about people in the world who are suffering, Ed explains that he’s “actually been trying to write a song about this, to get it out to more people.”

“People don’t understand what it’s like for people like us, the jokes and snide comments. I just feel like it’s time we stood up and said we’re not going to take this anymore,” Ed says.

Up until this point, Harry appears to agree, but when Ed proudly adds “We are ginger and we’re going to fight,” Harry looks more than a little bemused.

Ever the comedian, Harry nails the on-screen moment, commenting that it was “slightly awkward” and reiterating that the pair were collaborating for World Mental Health Day.

Ed quickly backtracks, quite literally, by promptly deleting the phrase “GINGERS UNITE” from an open document on his laptop.

Harry has to quickly, er, correct Ed’s faux pas.

Let’s be real though, we’d all be on board this movement if it were to happen too…

As the clip comes to an end, a slightly more serious note is struck as the pair speak to the camera.

“This World Mental Health Day reach out, make sure your friends, strangers, look out for anybody that might be suffering in silence,” Harry says.

“We’re all in this together.”

The pair end with an important message.

The royal family shared the clip far and wide for the poignant day, as well as promoting some of the other charities that are doing big things in the mental health space.

Kensington Palace also shared a post on the Heads Up campaign, which William is currently working on.

In conjunction with the English soccer team, the campaign aims to raise awareness and reiterate that mental health is just as important as physical health.

“Football is our national game – loved, watched, played and celebrated by many millions in the UK. It’s time we start talking about mental health as much and as comfortably as we talk about football,” the post read.

In a second post, the Palace shared more information on another incredible mental health initiative launched by the royals – Give us a Shout.

The 27 hour texting support service helps those who are going through any kind of crisis in need of someone to speak to.

“No-one should go through a crisis alone,” the Palace wrote, before adding: “Whatever you are going through @GiveUsAShoutInsta are here for you.”
