Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been targeted in a terrifying anthrax scare.

On February 12, the royal couple were sent white powder purporting to be anthrax in a letter to their Kensington Palace home. The letter was addressed to both Harry and Meghan at the residence where the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their two children also live.

Thankfully, the letter was intercepted before it reached the royal couple and the powder inside was subsequently found to be harmless.

Harry, 33, and Meghan, 36, who will tie the knot in a matter of months, have been informed about the incident.

A spokesman for the Met confirmed police are now investigating “after a package containing a substance was delivered to St James’s Palace on Monday, 12 February.”

“The substance was tested and confirmed as non suspicious,” he said. “Officers are also investigating an allegation of malicious communications which relates to the same package.”

No arrests have been made and inquiries are ongoing.

It comes amid high security around the couple ahead of their wedding at St George’s Chapel, in Windsor Castle, on Saturday May 19.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who will marry in just a matter of months, have been informed about the terrifying incident.

On a recent visit to Edinburgh Castle, the couple opened up about their plans in the lead up to the big day.

During a walkabout outside the iconic site, Meghan — who opted for a (very appropriate!) Burberry tartan coat and trousers by Veronica Beard for the royal outing — was asked about her upcoming bachelorette bash. And while she’s unsure of the exact plans her friends have set in place, it “is sorted,” she told the crowd of eager well-wishers.

“We asked them what they were doing for their stag and hen dos,” Tom Martin, 30, told People. “Meghan said, ‘I’m not sure — it’s sorted but it will be fun.'”

“Harry said he didn’t know. I’m sure William’s got something up his sleeve,” Tom added.

The royal couple opened up about their wedding on a recent visit to Scotland.

The duo, who have become known for their beautiful displays of affection, could barely keep their hands to themselves as they chatted happily to well-wishers.

The look of love!

Kensington Palace, too, have announced further details about the upcoming royal wedding.

In a statement published to their social media pages, the palace revealed that following the ceremony, the newlyweds will undertake a tour of the town as their first trip as man and wife to greet well-wishers from all over the world who have come to see them.

It will no doubt remind fans of similar scenes that played out during Prince William and Duchess Catherine’s 2011 wedding.

After the carriage procession, guests will gather inside St. George’s Hall for a day-time reception.

In the evening, Harry and Meghan will mingle with their VIP guests at a private reception hosted by the groom’s father Prince Charles.

According to sources speaking to the Daily Mail, it’s believed the royal wedding will be divided into two segments — an informal dinner for 350 and a reception drinks.

While there’s no word yet on the guest list, the palace promised they’ll share more details in due course.
