It may be Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s second joint engagement, but the royal engaged couple are already serious pros at wowing crowds.
On Tuesday, the pair visited the radio studios of Reprezent 107.3 FM in Brixton, South London.
Harry, 33, and Meghan, 36, who are set to marry in 122 days, in Windsor on 19 May, were greeted with loud roars and cheers as they chatted to crowds.
Many royal well-wishers stood out in the freezing cold in the hopes of seeing Princess Diana’s youngest son and his future bride.
Holding hands, Harry and Meghan were completely at ease in each other’s company as they dazzled the public with their charm and affection.
The former Suits actress was a vision in a camel-coloured coat by Smythe, black Burberry trousers, teamed with a very economical sweater by Autograph by Marks & Spencer completed with a Jigsaw scarf.
The American took a break from tradition, opting to sweep her hair back in a very chic messy bun.
Meghan’s decision steers away from women in the royal family who usually sport a neat chignon, or a tidy blowout.
And we have to confess we love that Meghan is bringing her laid-back California style to the Palace.
Something that isn’t making it to Kensington is her social media accounts with Meghan Markle officially deleting her public Instagram, Facebook and Twitter pages.
Kensington Palace spoke about her decision, telling Us Weekly, “Ms. Markle is grateful to everyone who has followed her social media accounts over the years, however as she has not used them for some time, she has taken the decision to close them.”
But fans needn’t worry, just like our favourite royals including the trio Prince William, Duchess Catherine and Prince Harry, now the royal family’s social accounts will keep us updated on all the things Meghan!
The couple decided to visit Reprezent – a 24-hour underground music station and the UK’s only network presented by people under 25 – to see how the station is positively influencing young people through training in radio and broadcasting and to see why music is such a good tool for kids.
Shane Carey, a former teacher, created the radio station in 2003 as a response to a sudden increase in knife crime in nearby neighbourhood, Peckham.
Shane explained that Meghan and Harry had asked if they could drop by, three days before Christmas.
“We didn’t invite them, they approached us just before Christmas,” he said.
“I was asked to give a major presentation the next day and have been working on this non-stop ever since. The reason they are coming is because we are aligned very closely to their interests, we do a lot of work around mental health.”
“The whole model of Reprezent is peer mentoring, and I know that is something that really interests Prince Harry.”
“Reprezent came out of a community station and has been so successful that it has just eclipsed everything else. Reprezent is about giving young people a voice and confidence. And radio is probably the way to do it.”
“There are so many jobs that you can do within radio – not just the obvious skills, but also getting on with people, turning your hands to all sorts of jobs.”
More than 4,000 kids have been through the Reprezent program and the station currently has over 3,000 people on the waiting list.
During their time at the station, Harry gave us a peek into his relationship.
When one of the young hosts asked his about gender equality he pointed to Meghan and said, “She answers the questions!”
Smiling, she quipped right back, “Yes talking of gender equality!”
The station has nurtured some huge names including grime star Stormzy.
Meghan was delighted to meet one of their hosts, DJ Glory.
“Hi I’m Meghan, nice to meet you too,” she was heard saying.
“I hear your show is very popular. I can see why you are so popular, you are so thoughtful in your approach.”
Glory told the actress that we started when she was 16, revealing, “Reprezent is not just a place you go to work but it’s a family, anything you need they are here for you, they nurture you until you are ready and ripe.”
Meghan, clearly in awe, said, “You’ll go onto Beat1 [a popular London Radio show].”
“And then there are three thousand people on the waiting list and it opens up a space for someone else to have the same experience. It’s amazing, it so cool!”
With 122 days until she becomes a royal, we think Meghan has got princess perfection down pat!
