The identity of the Prince George’s new full-time nanny has been revealed.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have reportedly hired a Spanish woman in her late 30s to care for their eight-month-old son.
While the name of the new royal nanny is not yet known, sources say she “lives for her job”.
“She is not married and doesn’t have a boyfriend, as her life is totally dedicated to the family she is working with. She is known for being totally professional – married to the job,” an insider told the UK’s Daily Express newspaper.
The woman has worked in Britain for the past 20 years, caring for the children of other affluent families. She is thought to have started working for William and Kate last month.
The new nanny replaces 71-year-old Jessie Webb, William’s own childhood nanny, who was coaxed out of retirement shortly after George was born in July last year to help the couple temporarily.
Kate, 32, originally planned not to take on a full-time nanny but the couple have decided that they will need the extra help ahead of what promises to be a gruelling three-week tour of New Zealand and Australia next month.
While palace officials have declined to discuss the specific identity of the new nanny, the dark-haired woman was seen pushing the little prince in his pram last week in London’s Hyde Park, accompanied by a police bodyguard.
The hired help is not in charge of the third in line to the throne this week, however. Kate’s parents, Mike and Carole Middleton are looking after George while his parents soak up some sun on their exotic week-long holiday at the Cheval Blanc Randheli resort on Noonu Atoll in the Maldives.
