Chatty Prince George started “speaking long before other toddlers”

According to a royal relative, the “clever” two-year-old is well advanced for his age in the speaking department!

Lady Sophie Windsor – a former actress who married Prince William’s distant cousin Lord Frederick Windsor in 2009 – revealed that her first daughter Maud went to Kensington Palace in London for a play date with the toddling future king last year.

“We were invited to tea at Kensington Palace just before Princess Charlotte was born. Maud and George got on very well,” Sophie tells UK Hello!.

Prince George would have been about 20 months old when he met Sophie and Maud, but Sophie believed that he was a “very clever, articulate little boy and was speaking long before other toddlers his age.”

The actress, who appeared in the US television sitcom Two and a Half Men, spoke to the magazine exclusively about the birth of her second daughter.

On January 16 at 11.59pm, the couple welcomed baby Isabella Alexandra May Windsor into the world at London’s Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, but Sophie revealed that her labour wasn’t all smooth sailing.

“Freddie didn’t leave my side throughout the birth. Mind you, I nearly broke his phone when he kept checking it to find out the result of the weekend’s football matches,” Sophie admits.

Lord Freddie and Lady Sophie are proud parents of two daughters – their eldest, Maud, is George’s little friend!

Unsurprisingly, the pair is infatuated with the new addition to their family. “I haven’t stopped cuddling her since she was born. I carry her everywhere with me.”

Freddie is “thrilled” that his daughters will have each other to grow up with.

“As a child I had – and still have – a close bond with my younger sister [Lady Gabriella Windsor] and it will be wonderful to watch Maud and Isabella play and grow up together like we did,” he says.

“The bond you form with your sibling can be the closest one you have with anyone in your life.”
