Watch out New York: the jet-setting Prince George could be heading to the Big Apple with Duchess Catherine and Prince William.
It seems likely that young Prince George could be heading stateside with his parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
William and Catherine are scheduled to visit New York on a brief three day trip next month to promote their new royal charity United For Wildlife. While it has yet to be confirmed by the palace that Prince George will travel with his parents, the Mail on Sunday reports that it is unlikely they would not take him with them.
“Any overseas visit will be announced in the usual manner in due course,” a palace spokesman says.
It will be Duchess Catherine’s first ever visit to the city, and she is reportedly very excited, after the disappointment of having to cancel an earlier planned trip to Malta.
The pregnant Duchess has been cleared for travel after having made a full recovery from the hyperemesis gravidarum that saw her out of action for two months after her second pregnancy was announced. The illness, which is like a kind of severe morning sickness, meant that the Duchess was forced to cancel what was scheduled to be her first solo tour as a royal.
Catherine was scheduled to visit the Mediterranean island nation of Malta to mark the country’s 50th anniversary of independence.
With the Duchess out of action, Prince William went in her place and joined in on the celebrations instead. When Prince William was asked about the absence of their one-year-old son Prince George, William joked: “Malta may not survive baby George – there are a lot of precious things here.”
New York City had better brace itself then – as Australia learned earlier this year when the young Prince came out on tour with his parents William and Catherine, a visit by the royal baby can send a whole nation into a flurry of excitement!
