Duchess Catherine and Prince William have revealed that their young baby Prince George is quite a fan of his food, and indeed, was known to keep them up to all hours with his incessant demands for feeding.

In a new Royal-themed issue of Vanity Fair which features the young Prince on the cover, Catherine revealed that George was quite a colicky baby. She said that she was relieved in how well he behaved when he began making his first public appearances  as part of the Royal tour this year because, as a newborn he had been extremely restless and difficult to settle at night.

The Royal nanny at the time, Jessie Webb, reportedly tried everything to settle the Royal bub into a routine, but the young Prince, who was still breastfeeding at that stage, was having none of it, as he was permanently hungry and demanded to be fed.

Switching to solid food over the new year, was the only thing that appeared to settle young Prince George. Since then, he has taken to his solid food with just as much gusto with Duchess Catherine joking when the pair were in Australia, that her baby seemed to have gained an “extra fat roll” while they were downunder.

Jessie, who came out of retirement to assist Catherine in their early days of being parents, has since decided to step down as she wasn’t up to travelling all the way down under to Australia and New Zealand as part of the Royal tour. The Royal couple hired Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo in March to take over the Prince’s care.

The new nanny trained at Norland College – an institution that specializes in childcare, and spent a week bonding with George in March, at the Middleton family home – under the watchful eye of Catherine’s parents, as the Duke and Duchess jetted off to the Maldives for their second honeymoon.

She then joined them for the Australian and New Zealand leg of the Royal tour and VF noted that, “her credentials include experience in self-defence, high-speed driving, and dealing with paparazzi.”

All of this sounds VERY impressive and indeed perfect skills for a Royal nanny to have. Her skilled hands are obviously doing the trick as chubby-cheeked young George looks very contented these days.
