Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia of Sweden — a.k.a the world’s most genetically blessed royals — have welcomed their second child together. And it’s another boy for the beloved duo!

The Swedish Royal Court announced the happy news on Thursday, revealing that both “mother and child are doing well.”

“On Thursday, 31 August at 11:24 a.m., Princess Sofia welcomed a healthy and prosperous child at Danderyd Hospital,” the statement read. “Both mother and child are doing well.”

Prince Carl Philip, 38, and Princess Sofia, 32, are already the proud parents to a son called Prince Alexander, Duke of Södermanland, who will turn two in April.

While they are yet to reveal their newborn’s all-important moniker, the proud dad-of-two did offer a brief statement to reporters after the birth was announced.

“We are really happy,” he said. “It’s a very cute boy.”

“It feels great, pure joy! He seems to be a very charming little boy and Sofia is a wonderful mom. It’s overwhelming,” he continued. “He has a draw of both me and Sofia.”

Carl and his wife — a former model — announced in March that they were expanding their family.

“We are happy to announce that we are expecting a child, a sibling to Prince Alexander,” they said in a statement alongside a darling family photo. “We are looking forward to welcoming a new little member to our family.”

Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia are pictured with their first born, Prince Alexander, shortly after his birth.

The little prince was christened in an opulent ceremony, wearing a christening gown that has been in the family’s possession since Prince Gustaf Adolf’s baptism in 1906.

Prince Alexander will turn two in April.

The royal couple, who wed in a lavish ceremony in 2015, spoke out about their transition into parenthood shortly after the birth of their first-born.

“It’s amazing,” the former reality television star told Sweden’s Svenskdam during a visit to Stenhammar Palace, situated just 120 kilometers south of Stockholm.

“He is very sweet and well-behaved,” she said.

When asked who the newborn takes after, Sofia quipped, “He’s a little mixture of both of us! And it’s different every day.”

Meanwhile, Carl spoke about the way in which their lives had changed since the welcoming the little prince.

“The first time has been a shift, of course, but it is still absolutely amazing and wonderful,” he said.

“Having children changes your whole life.”

Congratulations again to the happy family-of-four!
