Are Prince Andrew and Sarah, Duchess of York getting back together? Possibly.

Insiders have claimed that the former couple may be considering rekindling their relationship decades after they divorced in 1996.

The reports come hot on the heels of Sarah’s recent visit to Balmoral with her royal ex-husband, where they spent time visiting the Queen.

It’s the first time Sarah has been invited to Balmoral in years and seems to hint at a possible shift in her and Andrew’s relationship.

“They still love and care for each other a great deal and have been living together during the pandemic,” a source told Vanity Fair.

“It has rekindled something, and I can see a second wedding happening if it all goes Andrew’s way.”

It may sound like a bold claim, but Andrew and Sarah have been friendly for years now and have stood by one another through many hardships.

Most recently, the Duchess of York defended her former husband when he became embroiled in the Jeffrey Epstein scandal.

She denied claims that Andrew had sex with an underage girl, Virginia Roberts Giuffre, whom he met through Epstein.

Andrew has also vehemently denied all of Ms Giuffre’s claims.

Sarah said during an August TV appearance that the prince is a “thoroughly good man, he’s a very gentle man” and rejected claims to the contrary.

She also told Polstat News recently of her devotion to Andrew: “I kept my commitment, no matter what.

“People said: you got divorced. They don’t know how I feel. Divorce is one thing, but my heart is my oath, my obligation.”

She’s been saying similar things for years, telling Kyle and Jackie O in 2016: “I always think ‘have we really [broken up]?’

“We’re divorced to each other right now. We’ve never really left each other.”

Andrew has been more private about his ongoing friendship with his ex-wife, especially since he stepped back from royal duties in 2019.

He has been keeping a low profile since the “train wreck” BBC Newsnight interview he gave that year about the allegations against him.

Following the TV interview, Andrew gave up most of his royal duties and has avoided the public eye as much as possible.

Now he’s facing a potential legal battle with Ms Giuffre after she filed a civil suit against him in the US, alleging she was forced to engage in sexual acts with him.

Andrew has not responded, nor has Buckingham Palace. Both the prince and the palace have denied all Ms Giuffre’s claims in the past.

In the years since stepping down from royal duties, Andrew has spent much of his time at home at Royal Lodge in Windsor, where he lives with Sarah.

The former couple have also been a united force for their daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, for the past two decades.
