The Duchess of Cambridge’s sister is set to announce plans for “a spring wedding”, according to the Mail On Sunday, and will reportedly pick the festive season to reveal the news.
Stepping out arm in arm with Pippa in a dazzling dress that left little to the imagination at a ball last week was enough to reignite engagements rumours for the pair, with friends reportedly revealing they had been instructed by 36-year-old Nico to “prepare for a spring wedding”.
“Nico can’t stop talking about it,” a friend of the stockbroker told the Mail.
“It’s been the source of much excitement among his friends. He and Pippa want everything to be just perfect.”
The loved up pair are thought to have been dating for about eight months, and anticipation of their impending nuptials has led to speculation the Duchess of Cambridge will return the favour and be bridesmaid to her younger sister.
“They have been together for a lot longer than people realise. They want to announce an engagement after Christmas and the wedding will follow soon after,” the source said.
The same newspaper reported earlier this month that Pippa, 29, had her heart set on a wedding in the Scottish Highlands, but Nico’s parents, who live in Kent, would prefer a local wedding.
While Westminster Abbey, where Pippa famously played bridesmaid to her older sister Kate, is unlikely to be an option, a reception at her parents’ Berkshire family home would be “too low-key”, according to one friend.
In a recent newspaper column about floral decorating, Pippa said she had “great fun” trying out flower arranging, and even considered becoming “a DIY bride” when she does tie the knot.
