Just weeks after giving birth to her third child with husband James Matthews, Pippa Middleton looks to be one step closer to royalty all because of an inherited title.
Despite being sister to Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, Pippa isn’t considered a royal and doesn’t hold any formal titles.
But that could all change when her father-in-law David Matthews passes – though we’re hoping that doesn’t happen any time soon.
David is the Laird of Glen Affric and owns a 10,000-acre Scottish estate in the Scottish Highlands, which son James will inherit when he passes.
When James takes up the hereditary title, it will pass to her too, making them officially Lord and Lady Glen Affric. Their son Arthur would stand to one day inherit the title too.
The titles would make the couple nobles among the British aristocracy, which is just one step below royalty – where sister Catherine currently sits.
Though it will likely be decades before Pippa becomes Lady Glen Affric, she’s far from a commoner at the moment.

She, Catherine and brother James Middleton were raised among the British elite as descendants of several key members of the British aristocracy.
They spent their childhood on the grounds of parents Michael and Carole Middleton’s Berkshire property and received pricey private educations.
Now married to former professional racing driver and hedge fund manager James Matthews, Pippa is expected to raise her own three children in much the same way.
She dotes on son Arthur Michael William, three, and daughter Grace Elizabeth James, one, and just welcomed a second baby girl she reportedly named Rose.
According to PEOPLE, the Pippa gave birth to baby number three a few weeks ago at the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital in London.
It’s the same place the Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to her three children, though Pippa tends to keep a lower profile when she gives birth.
Fans first spotted her burgeoning bump when she attended the Queen’s Party at the Palace for the Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June.
While Pippa isn’t yet a British noble, she’s been rubbing shoulders with royalty for years after becoming a household name at the Cambridge’s 2011 wedding.
