70 years on and The Queen and Prince Philip are still the picture of love, loyalty and devotion.
And to mark their incredible platinum wedding anniversary, the Royal Family have treated fans to a whopping FOUR brand-new pictures of the adoring couple.
Christmas has well and truly come early!
Feast your eyes on their stunning anniversary album below…
They are the first-ever royal couple to reach this milestone moment.
In a statement, the palace explained: “The portraits, by British photographer Matt Holyoak of Camera Press, were taken in the White Drawing Room at Windsor Castle in early November.”
“In this first release, The Queen and His Royal Highness are framed by Thomas Gainsborough’s 1781 portraits of George III and Queen Charlotte, who were married for 57 years.”
“The marriage of the then Princess Elizabeth to Lieutenant Philip Mountbatten took place at Westminster Abbey on 20th November 1947.”
In the stunning anniversary album, the Duke and his wife positively beam in one another’s company.
The Queen looks resplendent in a white dress by her favourite designer, Angela Kelly , matching pearls and a perfectly coiffed ‘do.
Finishing off her look, the leader gives a subtle nod to her husband donning a ruby and gold brooch which was made by Andrew Grima and commissioned by the Duke as a present for his wife in 1966.
While her 96-year-old husband keeps it classic in a tweed blazer and tie ensemble.
They pose in several set-ups but our favourite has the be the shot of the Duke dutifully standing next to his wife as she reclines on a gold chair.
A fitting image for a couple who have spent years quietly supporting one another.

These old-timers simply adore each other and have a seriously sweet way of showing it.
“He is someone who doesn’t take easily to compliments. But he has, quite simply, been my strength and stay all these years, and I and his whole family, in this and many other countries, owe him a debt greater than he would ever claim or we shall ever know,” Her Majesty, 91, has previously said of her husband.
As for their secret to a successful marriage Phil says it’s all about having “tolerance” and “different interests.”
Take notes, everybody!
