Former Neighbours star Ben Nicholas has officially become a dad!
The 34-year-old, who is best known for his portrayal of mischievous teen Stingray, revealed he and his wife Stephanie Lilja have welcomed a son.
“Jesse Lilja Nicholas! On the 23rd of June we welcomed our little bundle of poop and sleep deprivation into this world!” he penned on Instagram on Tuesday.
“My super hero wife was an absolute beast, couldn’t have been prouder or more in awe! Prepare for photo bombs!!”
Ben, who married Stephanie in 2020, shared a photo of Jesse laying on his wife’s chest after the birth.
In February, the former Neighbours star announced he and Stephanie were expecting, writing on Instagram: “Selfish nights out with no responsibilities will be coming to an end … baby baking at half way!!! @stlilj has been a champ.”
Ben shot to fame in 2004 when he debuted on Neighbours playing Scott “Stingray” Timmins. The rebellious skater boy made quite the entrance where he was arrested for streaking across a football pitch.
Stingray’s larrikin behaviour spanned across three years until his character sadly passed away at a party in 2007.
In 2015, Ben created and starred in ABC’s Footballer Wants A Wife, a parody reality show that followed young football stars on their modern-day quest for love.
Fifteen years later, he looks vastly different from his days on Ramsay Street. Not only is Ben now a father, the 34-year-old is still working in the entertainment industry.
Ben now runs Wedid Productions, a successful content creation agency.
And it news that will warm Neighbours fans’ hearts, Ben is still close friends with former co-star Damien Bodie, who played his brother Dylan, and Kyal Marsh, who played Boyd.
“The three of us were pretty close and used to get up to shenanigans outside of work and on set,” Ben previously told Tinsel and Tap Shoes.
