The Evolution of Olivia Wilde

Movie star, producer, business mogul... Olivia Wilde has certainly come a long way from her turn as Alex Kelly on The O.C.

Olivia Wilde, star of the upcoming Christmas feel-good movie Love the Coopers, has been blazing a trail in Hollywood since she first appeared in The O.C. back in 2004.

It was her turn as Dr. Remy Hadley in House a few years later, though, that made Wilde (31) a household name.

She starred alongside Hugh Laurie in the medical drama, playing a young intern doctor with Huntington’s disease and fans mourned her departure in 2011, when it was announced she was leaving to pursue a career in film.

2011 was a busy year for Wilde; in March, she revealed that she had filed divorce proceedings against then-husband Tao Ruspoli, whom she had married in a secret ceremony when she was just 19.

A few months later she was spotted with fellow actor Jason Sudeikis; the two announced their engagement early in 2013, and their son Otis Alexander was born the following year.

A long-time champion of independent films and ground-breaking documentaries, Wilde’s career has been impressively diverse.

As well as starring in big-budget flicks like Cowboys & Aliens, and in Disney’s Tron: Legacy, she has continuously sought out smaller and more eclectic films.

In 2013, she both starred in and executive produced Drinking Buddies, and her most recent documentary, Body Team 12, won Best Documentary Short at the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival.

Olivia Wilde is certainly one busy lady; earlier this year, Wilde became the face of fashion label H&M’s new Conscious Exclusive collection, an environmentally conscious line of clothing, and she’ll be back on the big screen in Love the Coopers this December.
