Donna Freedman has come a long way from Ramsay Street.
Former Neighbours actress Margot Robbie has reportedly been cast to play the lead role of Maid Marian in a new Robin Hood spin-off film.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the updated flick “unfolds after the death of Robin Hood, the love of her life. The titular maiden then picks up his cause to lead her people into a pivotal war that will not only decide the fate of the kingdom, but also see her don the mantle of the man she loved. In the process, she rises as a legend herself.”
The Queensland-born star is going from strength to strength.
Following her breakout as Leonardo DiCaprio’s main squeeze in Wolf of Wall Street, the actress catapulted into lead roles including Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad, plus a bevy of new projects from her figure skating biopic I, Tonya and the Peter Rabbit live-action remake.
The popular A-lister is also slaying it on a personal front.
The actress capped off 2016 by tying the knot with her longtime beau, Tom Ackerley, in a stunning secret Bryon Bay ceremony.
Last year, Margot admitted her heart lies with Australia and she plans to raise her children here.
“They’ll be here. The kids will be in Australia,” she explained during a chat on The Project.
Adding that her partner feels the same. “‘He loves Australia. He’s like, ‘I don’t know why anyone leaves Australia!'”
