The Leftovers actor is reportedly in talks to play the role of Tramp, unsurprisingly. With his scruffy good looks and tough-guy nature, Justin is a perfect fit for the role.

Lady and the Tramp will follow in the same footsteps of other Disney remakes The Jungle Book, Dumbo and, currently in production, The Lion King, as a live-action/CGI hybrid.

If you can believe it, the original animated film was produced in 1955. It follows cocker spaniel Lady, and her beloved owners Jim and Darling Dear. While the couple are out of town, Lady is taken to the pet store by her sitter, Aunt Sarah, to be fitted for a muzzle. After escaping the store, Lady is rescued by stray dog Tramp. They eat spaghetti, escape from the pound, kill an evil rat, and, you know, fall in love.

The live-action Lady and the Tramp is being directed by The Lego Ninjago Movie filmmaker Charlie Bean, with the script by Andrew Bujalski. Emmy-nominated actress Ashley Jensen (Extras) will voice the Scottish Terrier Jackie, who was originally a male dog named ‘Jock’ in the 1955 classic.

The film will not be released in theatres, and will instead be premiered on Disney’s new streaming service when it launches in 2019.

The Walt Disney Company announced the new service in August 2017, and it is set to launch in 2019 via streaming technology company BAMTech.

Just like Netflix, Stan. and Hulu, the new Disney streaming service will create original content exclusively for the platform.

The Disney streaming service will have exclusive access to all Disney and Pixar movies, and all Disney Channel, Disney Junior and Disney XD television programming. This also extends to Disney holdings Marvel and Lucasfilm.

In December 2017 Disney also purchased 21st Century Fox, acquiring Fox’s film and TV studio. This means the Disney streaming service could also be sharing Fox content.

Put simply, the Disney streaming service is going to be a BIG deal next year.

With new straight-to-service movies such as Lady in the Tramp, it’s going to offer up stiff competition to the likes of Netfilx. But for us regular TV and film buffs, it just means more access than ever to quality content.
