She’s 24 years old, nearly 6ft tall and is so beautiful she’s been declared the second coming of Cindy Crawford — now US supermodel Kendra Spears is set to become a bona fide princess.
Kendra got engaged to 42-year-old Prince Rahim Aga Khan — the eldest son of His Highness Aga Khan IV, millionaire racehorse owner and the current Imam of Shia Ismaili Muslims — last week.
The engagement, which came as a shock as no one knew the pair was even dating, was announced by the Aga Khan Development Network on Friday.
“The couple will be married in a Muslim ceremony,” the statement read. “The date of the marriage has not been set yet.”
The announcement was accompanied by the first official photograph of the couple, clearly showing Kendra’s large diamond engagement ring.
Kendra later confirmed the news tweeting: “Thank you all for the kind tweets! We’re very excited! :)”
Once she is married, Kendra will become a Princess, and will likely change her name to an Islamic name.
She will also convert to Islam before the wedding.
Kendra was 19 when she won a Ford Models competition in 2008. She quickly became one of the industry’s most in-demand girls, walking in catwalk shows for Chanel and Louis Vuitton and starring in ad campaigns for Calvin Klein and Emporio Armani.
The Aga Khan family is estimated to be worth more than $800 million.
