Mike Tindall has shared intimate details from his latest family holiday with wife Zara Tindall and their three children.
Chatting in the latest episode of his podcast The Good, The Bad & The Rugby, Mike shared a telling clue about life with their youngest, new son Lucas.
“It was lovely, thank you,” he said when his co-host, Alex Payne, asked about his recent family holiday.
“I would like to say it was relaxing but I actually feel I need a holiday off the back of the holiday.”
The 42-year-old didn’t say whether the break was spent abroad, or if he and Zara opted for a “staycation” in the UK with their three young kids.
But it’s clear he’s had a taste of the exhaustion and stress many parents of newborns and toddlers are familiar with.
Mike and Zara welcomed their son Lucas on March 21, 2021, and the former rugby player has shared several sweet updates on his podcast since his son’s arrival.
He first announced Lucas’ birth on the podcast, telling his co-host in March: “Sunday got even better because a little baby boy arrived at my house.”
“Arrived very quickly. Didn’t make it to hospital. On the bathroom floor. “
“So yeah, it was running to the gym, get a mat, get into the bathroom, get the mat on the floor, towels down, brace, brace, brace.”
It seemed like a shocking way for a royal baby to arrive, but Lucas isn’t the first royal bub to be delivered in an unusual home birth.
According to several sources, Prince Philip was also delivered at home on either a kitchen table or dining room table.
Mike shared an update on his son in May and touched on how he and Zara were adapting to life with Lucas in the house.
“There’s not much going on,” the father-of-three said at the time.
“Just newborn, a month-old, same old stuff. Feeding, bum wiping, but otherwise all good.”
He and Zara also share elder daughters Mia, seven, and Lena, three, meaning the royal couple have three kids under ten to wrangle day-in and day-out.
There’s no doubt the little girls were excited to meet their baby brother when he arrived five months ago.
But as Mike hinted in his most recent comments, keeping up with a newborn and his two little girls must be a huge undertaking.
