But fans were treated into a glimpse at her former life over the weekend when a Canadian charity shared a throwback photo of the then Meghan Markle volunteering for the organisation during the time she lived in the North American country.

St Felix Centre is registered charity that provides services for some of the most marginalised and vulnerable members of Torontoโ€™s community, and was one of the 12 charities Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan chose to highlight for the month of December.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have a โ€œmonthly tradition of highlighting accounts that do goodโ€ and in the lead up to Christmas, the couple chose to draw attention to organisations that care for those in need during the festive season when many may be โ€œlonely, hungry, homeless, or may be experiencing the holidays for the first time without loved ones.โ€

As a way of saying thanks to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for highlighting their organisation, St Felix Centre shared a throwback photo of a group of volunteers, one of which was Duchess Meghan herself!

โ€œWe feel very grateful and honoured to have been highlighted by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan Markle, as one of 12 charities doing important work worldwide. This photo has Meghan volunteering in our kitchen!โ€ they captioned the post.

According to the organisation, the then Meghan Markle was an active supporter and volunteer for the centre while she was working on her TV series Suits that was filmed in Toronto.

โ€œShe volunteered on a regular basis in our kitchen as part of our Community Meals Program. The Duchess also donated food from the set of Suits, and on one Thanksgiving she brought in all the food, turkeys and the fixings for over 100 people.โ€

And to make matters even sweeter, the charity said that though her official title is Duchess Meghan, โ€œwe remember her just as โ€˜the lovely Meghanโ€™.โ€

โ€œWeโ€™re happy to see she continues supporting vulnerable people now as a member of the Royal Family. Weโ€™d love for her to visit us again one day.โ€

Just last month, royal fans were treated into another insight into Meghanโ€™s life before Harry when a throwback photo of the Duchess was shared for Remembrance Day by the Sussex Royal itself.

The photo depicted Duchess Meghan alongside several other Hollywood actors in 2014, holding a USO sign in front of a crowd of military servicemen and women.

โ€œDuring this tour, The Duchess met with service personnel and their families and she was proud to recognise their service to the country,โ€ the caption read followed by a quote from the now-Duchess: โ€œI have always had such a profound respect for our nationโ€™s troops and military families. I cannot thank them enough for everything they do for us.โ€
