Duchess Meghan may have a team of staff available at her disposal, but it seems the modern royal certainly doesn’t rely on the help to keep her Sussex household running.
Meghan, along with Prince Harry and baby Archie, are currently celebrating the American and Canadian holiday tradition of Thanksgiving, where families come together to give thanks for the things in life they are grateful for.
A traditional Thanksgiving dinner is no simple affair, with classic Thanksgiving foods often including a big turkey, cranberry sauce, lots of delicious vegetable sides, and of course, pumpkin pie.
And it seems the American-born royal, who is a big fan of cooking, is determined to cook up a feast for her family this year, and won’t be relying on her professional royal chefs to prepare the Sussex family Thanksgiving dinner.
According to respected royal commentator and Vanity Fair’s royal correspondent Katie Nicholl, Meghan will be preparing a full Thanksgiving meal for Harry and Archie all by herself.
“Meghan loves being in the kitchen,” Katie told the UK’s OK! magazine.
“She’s a talented chef and takes great pleasure in bringing people together over a family meal,” Katie revealed.
“‘There won’t be any staff helping her – she’ll definitely be wearing the apron”.

(Instagram)Of course, this is not Meghan’s first rodeo.
Back in 2016, the keen cook took to her now-deleted Instagram account to show off the fruits of her labour, posing with a giant Thanksgiving turkey.
“Oh, that time I roasted a pretty perfect Thanksgiving turkey!” Meghan captioned the photo, which you can see above.
Thanksgiving is a huge holiday in the US and Canada and is clearly important to Meghan, who was born and raised in California.
On the official Sussex Royal Instagram account, the Duke and Duchess posted a heartwarming holiday message to their royal fans to celebrate the occasion.
“Wishing you a very happy Thanksgiving, from our family to yours,” Harry and Meghan wrote on Instagram, along with the caption, “Happy Thanksgiving! 🍁”.

Harry and Meghan will be spending the holiday season in the US with Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland.
(Credit: Getty)Earlier this month, it was revealed that the Sussex family would not be spending Christmas with The Queen and the rest of the royal family at Sandringham, instead travelling to the US to spend the holiday season with Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland.
The decision was confirmed by Buckingham Palace in a statement, which explained that both Harry and Meghan were “looking forward to extended family time towards the end of this month”.
“Having spent the last two Christmases at Sandringham, Their Royal Highnesses will spend the holiday this year, as a new family, with the Duchess’ mother Doria Ragland,” the statement said.
The Palace added that the decision has come in line with precedent set previously by other members of the royal family, and also “has the support of Her Majesty The Queen.”

Skipping Christmas with the Queen is not unusual for royal family members – Duchess Catherine and Prince William have done the same previously, opting to spend the day with Kate’s mother and father in Buckleberry in 2016.
That year marked Princess Charlotte’s first Christmas, so it’s not hugely unusual to see Harry and Meghan choose to spend Archie’s first Christmas with his mother’s family.
Last Christmas, when Meghan was heavily pregnant with baby Archie, she stepped out in Sandringham for the second year in a row alongside Harry, Prince William and Duchess Catherine.
