The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s road to romance is one of the most captivating love stories in recent memory.
Californian-born actress meets British Prince after being set up with him on a blind date by a mutual friend.
The pair fall madly in love and end up marrying in the most ground-breaking and romantic royal wedding ever.
But just four years ago, a then-Meghan Markle took to her now defunct lifestyle blog The Tig to write about how she always wanted to be a princes when she was a little girl.
However, the passionate feminist admitted she wasn’t longing to be a typical kind of princess one would expect.
“Little girls dream of being princesses. I, for one, was all about She-Ra, Princess of Power. For those of you unfamiliar with the ’80s cartoon reference, She-Ra is the twin sister of He-Man, and a sword-wielding royal rebel known for her strength. We’re definitely not talking about Cinderella here,” Meghan penned.

The Suits actress went on to muse about the hysteria surrounding her now-sister-in-law Duchess Catherine when she married Prince William in 2011.
“Grown women seem to retain this childhood fantasy. Just look at the pomp and circumstance surrounding the royal wedding and endless conversation about Princess Kate,” Meghan wrote.

Meghan’s impassioned Tig Talk essay was part of a piece to frame her interview with Princess Alia Al-Senussi, who was exiled with her family from Libya after dictator Gaddhafi took to power in 1969.
Clearly inspired to be getting the chance to pick the brains of royalty, Meghan admitted she had a “pinch-myself-I’m-emailing-with-a-princess” moment during her correspondence with Princess Alia Al-Senussi.
In 2011, Prince William married Duchess Catherine. 7 years later, Meghan and Harry would delight royal watchers around the world with their wedding.
Indeed, it’s fascinating to read back the Duchess’ musings in the current context of her life.
And while her life may be a world away from her 2014 existence, it’s clear Duchess Meghan is embracing her inner She-Ra as she takes on her new role as a full-time royal.
