Ever since their relationship became public, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan have faced a jaw-dropping amount of negative press.
From their preferred mode of air travel to how baby Archie is being held, it seems someone always has something to say.
But with one quote, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have shared a message that will not only inspire many of their fans and followers, but shows the mature way that they handle the negativity in their lives.
Taking to the Sussex Royal Instagram page, Harry and Meghan shared a quote from the late Nelson Mandela that reads: “It is so easy to break down and destroy. The heroes are those who make peace and build.”
“Sharing a powerful quote to start the week,” the caption read.
“Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela was a true leader, a South African anti-apartheid revolutionary and philanthropist who served as President of South Africa from 1994 to 1999.
“Please discover one of the chosen accounts for this month @NelsonMandelaFoundationSA for more inspiring quotes.”
Fans applauded the royal couple for their positive outlook, despite their own experiences of being “broken down” and “destroyed.”
“Stay strong against all the racism and ignorance. The are a small yet loud group that will be quelled,” one royal fan commented.
Another penned: “So very true, especially in today’s climate where we have more keyboard warriors willing to tear others down instead of encouraging one another. Thank you for the reminder. May we all lift, support and build each other up.”
“Isn’t that the truth. You’re both heroes to me, so this certainly applies. Nelson would be proud of the work you’ve done,” congratulated another.

“In just a few weeks our family will be taking its first official tour to Africa, a region of the world that over the past two decades has been a second home to me. Our team has helped create a meaningful programme that we’re so excited to share with you,” Prince Harry wrote in a statement this week.
“On a personal note, I can’t wait to introduce my wife and son to South Africa! We’ll see all of you very soon.”

Though he never met the former South African president, during his royal tour of Africa in 2015, Prince Harry had the opportunity to meet Mandela’s widow Graca Machel and see some memorabilia at Nelson Mandela’s former offices.
And though the Prince inspected many articles, he was particularly taken by a photograph of his mother Princess Diana, captured when she met Mandela herself in 1997 during a private visit.
“The Prince was drawn to the picture of his mother,” said foundation director, Verne Harris.
“He went straight to it when he walked through the door. He wanted to know when it was taken.”
Looking at the photo, Harry commented, “Happy smiles, big smiles.”

(Image: Getty Images)Just a couple of months after their royal wedding in May, the newlywed royals stepped out to attend the Nelson Mandela Centenary Exhibition on London’s Southbank, marking 100 years since the former South African president’s birth.
Mandela’s granddaughter Zamaswazi Dlamini-Mandela, who was also in attendance, said it was “an honour” for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to attend, praising their “support for justice and fairness” and describing the couple a “shining example” for young people.
