As Woman’s Day exclusively revealed last week, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have set their wedding date for next April after first seeking Queen Elizabeth’s approval.
When the royal bride-to-be delivered a special gift and a touching request to her future sister-in-law’s bedside at Kensington Palace last week, the Duchess of Cambridge couldn’t stop smiling.
Despite her joy at falling pregnant for the third time, Kate has had a difficult few weeks as she battles intense morning sickness, also known as hyperemesis gravidarum, the condition that plagued her previous pregnancies.
Inside the package from Meghan was a gorgeous rose gold solitaire diamond bracelet from Tiffany & Co. worth close to $2000.
And accompanying the extravagant gift was a sweet note asking Kate, 35, to be Meghan’s maid of honour at her upcoming wedding to Prince Harry.
It’s no surprise Meghan, 36, would reach out to Kate with such a special request ahead of the day she’s long been dreaming of – the princes are very close.
Since Prince William married Kate in 2011, Harry has been a regular visitor to the couple’s household.
He often drops in for cosy chats and family meals.
“I’ve got to know Catherine pretty well. To have a big sister is very, very nice,” Harry says of the close relationship he has with his brother’s wife.
With Harry also enjoying his role as an uncle to Prince George, four, and Princess Charlotte, two, Meghan was even more determined for Kate to play a special role in the ceremony when she becomes an official member of the royal family next year.
