It’s no secret that Meghan Markle holds some staunch opinions on certain things, but a shock new report has revealed something even Meghan’s most dedicated fans weren’t expecting – and it’s all to do with Kate Middleton.
As the pregnant 37-year-old prepares to give birth to her first child, it’s become very clear that this won’t be a typical royal birth that we’ve come to know at the hand of Kate.
Indeed, the use of London’s Lindo Wing, the official photo call and even the birth announcement itself looks like it’ll take place very differently to how Kate and mother-in-law Diana did it – and there’s a very interesting reason why.
In March, the Palace shocked fans when they released a statement revealing that Prince Harry and Meghan would like to “celebrate in private” after welcoming their first child.
The news came as a surprise given that in the past, royal watchers had been kept very well in the loop, from updates on when and where Kate was in labour, right up to getting a first look at the royal baby mere hours after it was born.
But for Meghan, it looks like it’ll be a different story, with it being understood that we’ll simply be made aware of when the Duchess is safely in labour, and when the baby is born.
As for photos – it looks like we won’t be catching a glimpse of Baby Sussex nearly as soon as we saw Kate’s three children, with an official photo call believed to be taking place several days after the birth.

So why are Meghan and Harry are choosing to be so secretive? Well, it seems because Meghan actually “felt sorry” for Kate during her rather public Royal Baby displays.
Speaking to The Post, a friend of Meghan’s revealed that the Duchess felt bad for Kate having to look impeccable and face the world’s media mere hours after giving birth.
It’s also understood that the brunette royal will forgo the Lindo Wing, instead choosing to have a home birth, at her new home in Windsor, named Frogmore Cottage. The Duchess will, however, still have a helicopter on stand-by if she needs to go to hospital.
Also noticeably different to the proceedings involved in Kate’s children’s births will be the absence of the Queen’s household doctors, with reports claiming that Meghan doesn’t want “men in suits” at the birth of her first child, and instead appointing her own delivery team.

Meghan and Harry’s controversial birthing approach
Fans are surprised by Meghan’s very secretive approach to the baby’s birth, with a source telling The Sun: “They’re basically conducting the birth in virtual secrecy. I think it’s a bit foolish.”
“Harry absolutely hates being the subject of speculation, and this just shows his petulance to the media . . . it’s just a shame.”
In saying that, the new baby certainly won’t be a stranger to its extended family, with Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland expecting to hold a significant role in the newborn’s first few weeks.
The grandma-to-be has already arrived in the UK ahead of the royal birth, and is on-hand to help her daughter as she tackles motherhood for the first time.
“Meghan and Doria are like two peas in a pod. Both perfectionists, both can be controlling, but they know their own minds for sure! They just like things the way they like them,” a source told The Post.
And the pair are so close in fact, that its feared Prince Harry will have to take the back seat when it comes to looking after the new bub.
“Everyone in the family says that when they’re together, Harry — who is extremely fond of Doria — will have to take a back seat. He won’t be able to get a word in edgewise,” the source explained.

Thomas Markle might never meet his grandchild
While Meghan’s mum Doria will play a huge role in the baby’s life, her estranged father Thomas Markle will likely be quite the opposite.
According to Page Six, Thomas “wont even know when the baby arrives until the rest of the world is told”, a friend explained.
The lighting director, who fell out with his daughter shortly before the royal wedding in May 2018, is said to be “devastated” at the prospect of not meeting his grandchild.
It’s been a rocky road for the father and daughter, who fell out when he staged paparazzi photos and made a point to ridicule the royal family publicly throughout 2018.
Since then, he’s partaken in a number of interviews calling for his daughters forgiveness to no avail.

With that being said, it seems Meghan is set on doing things her own way as she welcomes her first child.
