Meghan, who is currently residing in Los Angeles with her husband Prince Harry and one-year-old son Archie, likely marked the day with some low-key private celebrations – but that didn’t stop the public tributes from flowing.

As is expected whenever a prominent family member celebrates their birthday, the royals shared public tributes via social media to mark the special occasion.

Prince William and Duchess Catherine’s sincere message to the Duchess was shared on Instagram with a beautiful image of Meghan smiling as she spoke to a small child.

“Wishing a very happy birthday to The Duchess of Sussex today!” The caption read.

The royals’ message quickly attracted a huge response from fans, with more than 500,000 people liking the photo and thousands more commenting on the snap.

“The Cambridges are very kind,” wrote one fan.

Another added their own message to the Duchess: “Happy Birthday beautiful lady. Keep being a force of change.”

Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla also shared a sweet message to Meghan for her 39th birthday.

“Happy Birthday to The Duchess of Sussex! 🎈,” their Instagram caption read.

They picked a beautiful photo of Meghan from 2018, looking radiant in a navy knit.

Buckingham Palace’s official account also shared a candid snap from 2018 when both Meghan and Her Majesty stepped out together in Chester.

“Wishing The Duchess of Sussex a very happy birthday!” The Queen’s representative account added in the caption.

While Meghan and Harry are likely to keep their movements under the radar at the moment as they settle into life outside of their former senior royal roles, we can assume the family-of-three had a celebration of their own on Tuesday.

Given their close proximity to Meghan’s mother, LA-based Doria Ragland, it’s also likely they joined her to mark the occasion.

In the coming weeks, we’ll hopefully see some developments in the reveal of the couple’s brand new charitable foundation, Archewell.

It’s understood they have been working hard behind the scenes to bring it to life during the COVID-19 lockdown.
