To listeners, Meghan Markle’s Spotify podcast Archetypes seems to be a back-and-forth discussion between the host and guests. But this could all be fake and perfected by brilliant editing.
Award-winning journalist Allison Yarrow featured on the episode titled “To ‘B’ or not to ‘B'” to discuss the history of the b—h word in feminism culture with the Duchess of Sussex, or so we are led to believe.
In a post made to Instagram, Allison suggested she talked to “an excellent interviewer”.
“Excited to be included in the visionary series #Archetypes hosted by Meghan the Duchess of Sussex that aims to dissect and subvert the archetypes that hold women back,” she wrote.
“The first episode (out now, link in bio) features a timely interview with another legend @Serenawilliams. Cheers to producer @farrahsafari (an excellent interviewer) and the folks at @Gimlet @spotify who get it done!”
Farrah Safari works as a producer for Gimlet Media – which produces the podcast in partnership with Archewell Audio – and has been with the company since early 2022.
It is believed Allison’s comments were intertwined throughout the episode to act as if she were in conversation with Meghan alongside guests Mellody Hobson and Victoria Jackson.
The podcast has previously input external audio clips from various experts including Dr Laura Kay and sociologist Nancy Wang Yuen.
But Meghan has personally interviewed some stars in previous episodes including actress Mindy Kaling and tennis legend Serena Williams.
Despite allegedly not speaking to Meghan Markle, Allison enjoyed “dissecting” the b—h word.
“I’ve loved listening to #Archetypes with Meghan the Duchess of Sussex, however, I am partial to today’s ep “To ‘B’ or Not to ‘B'” (linked in my bio) because it does such important work dissecting and trying to understand the archetype of the “B.”
“It’s a word that I work hard to avoid because of what I know about where it comes from and how it has been used systematically to derogate women. Thrilled to be part of this meaningful project; touched by this gorgeous thank you.”
