With all the hullabaloo surrounding the arrival of the new royal baby (those fingers, those cheeks, that button nose!), it’s hard to imagine anyone remotely close to the new family-of-five getting any work done. But it seems as if it’s business as usual for the newborn prince’s uncle and aunt-to-be Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

On Tuesday, Kensington Palace released some new information about the couple’s May 19 nuptials, including the music selected for the St. George’s wedding service portion of the ceremony.

The music will include an array of classical and British music and will be under the direction of James Vivian, Director of Music at St George’s Chapel.

More specifically, the Choir of St George’s Chapel will perform (go figure!) as well as Sheku Kanneh-Mason — an award-winning 19-year-old cellist who is a student at London’s Royal Academy of Music.

Incredibly, Kanneh-Mason received a personal call from the bride-to-be to ask if he’d take part in their bigger than big day.

“I was bowled over when Ms. Markle called me to ask if I would play during the ceremony, and of course I immediately said yes,” he said of the honor. “What a privilege to be able to play the cello at such a wonderful event. I can’t wait!”

Karen Gibson and The Kingdom Choir are also scheduled to perform.

“The Choir is made up of a group of British artists dedicated to creating a sound that demonstrates the community they share, and has been performing both nationally and internationally for over 20 years,” Kensington Palace wrote.

There’s no word yet about the music selection at the more exclusive after party at Frogmore House. However, there’s speculation everybody’s favourite supergroup could take the stage.

In February, Mel B — aka Scary Spice — said during an interview that the Spice Girls would be performing at the royal wedding.

Appearing on US talk show The Real, the singer-songwriter looked slightly flustered and even a bit nervous when one of talk show hosts asked if she knew anyone who would be going to the royal wedding.

She then nodded briskly and seemingly confirmed that she and all of the Spice Girls had received an invite.

“I don’t know if I should have said that,” she said.

“Why am I so honest?”

She added, before throwing her hands up in the air: “Let’s not talk about it anymore; let’s pretend I never said that.”

Other rumored performers include Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith.
