Sometimes, parents just aren’t that thrilled about whoever their child chooses to date, and there are many reasons this testament can be deemed valid and invalid.
But Lynne McGranger does not fall into this camp, as she is firmly supportive of her daughter Clancy McWaters’ boyfriend, Luke.
The Home and Away star’s admiration for the couple was made clear when she posted a cute comment on Clancy’s recent Instagram post.
Clancy and Luke visited the Corowa Whisky and Chocolate distillery last weekend as the Covid-19 restrictions started to take place.
She had posted a cute picture of herself and Luke sitting on a couch under the Corowa sign, and she captioned the moment, “Weekend get away with my love, should have stayed put. 🍷.”
Like every supportive mum ever, Lynne commented almost straight after Clancy hit post.
Clearly in awe of her daughter and her beau she wrote, “How gorgeous. Those gene pools are something else 🤣🙏🥰😍💕💙.”
The funny comment is a nice little compliment back to Lynne, who obviously had collaborated on one half of the gene pool with her partner, Paul McWaters.
Lynne’s character on Home and Away may have had a complicated relationship with motherhood over the years, but of course, in her real life, she has a close relationship with her daughter.
In 2015, the actor told Sydney Confidential her lookalike daughter has taken after her in the performing arts department and that she’s always had a knack for theatrics.
“She is a triple threat, she sings, dances and acts, at the moment she seems to be leaning toward more singing and dancing,” Lynne told the publication.
“We were surprised when Clancy announced at the age of 15 or 16 that she wanted to study drama. But we are very happy for her and support all the way.”
Lynne’s 30-year-old daughter has even appeared on Home and Away as an extra over the years.
Clancy is currently working as a yoga and pilates instructor in Sydney.
