The fashion diploma graduate was snapped cosying up to a mystery man while enjoying a stroll and some sunbaking at Sydney’s North Bondi Beach.

Mia’s parents Lleyton, 42, and Bec, 40, are reportedly nervous about their firstborn dipping her toe in the dating pool, and with good reason!

Bec was just three years older than Mia is now when she became engaged to Lleyton in January 2005 after six weeks of dating.

Perhaps keen for her not to jump in so quickly, a source tells Woman’s Day Lleyton’s given his daughter some tips as she tries to navigate relationships.

“Lleyton’s doing his best to stay cool, but as a protective dad, he worries about his kids,” says the source.

“It was just weeks ago Mia turned 18 and he’s barely getting used to her being an adult and making her own choices, and now her dating life is making headlines.”

1. Don’t overshare on socials

Like any protective dad, he hopes the couple keep some of their romance to themselves and don’t blast it over social media.

“He’s used to a tennis court, but this is a whole new ball game,” says the source.

2. Do stay focused

“They want her to make sure she will stay on top of her studies once uni restarts in March,” says the insider of the Hewitts.

“It’s so easy to get distracted, having just come of age, and they want Mia to knuckle down for a couple more years before getting entangled with someone.”

3. Don’t forget the family

Bec and Lleyton already had careers before settling down to family life – and they want the same for Mia.

“They’d like her to get through her degree without too many wild parties and forge some kind of career path in fashion,” says the source.

“Lleyton and Bec have always put family first and have raised their kids to do the same, so they are confident that Mia will always prioritise her family with everything she does.”
