Melbourne Cup Day is undeniably a global spectacle when it comes to the many frivolous fashions from the field, but things have just been stepped up a notch thank to an actual royal making her grand arrival at Flemington Racecourse.
Yep, you might have remembered her as one of the best dressed guests from Meghan and Harry’s royal nuptials in 2018, wearing that heavenly emerald green Dolce & Gabanna ensemble, but Lady Kitty Spencer has officially outdone herself today with an outfit we can only describe as breathtaking.
Yep, we know what we’ll be gazing fondly at for the foreseeable future…
News that Lady Kitty, who is the niece of the late Princess Diana, would be attending Melbourne Cup Day this year spread like wildfire through the country yesterday.
Not least for her high profile and status internationally, but also because there’s no denying this royal has a very keen eye for fashion.
Essentially, anything she steps out in is almost 100 per cent guaranteed to be amazing.
And we can safely say this multi-coloured ombre dress met all our expectations and more, quite frankly.

The 28-year-old model will be inside the exclusive Birdcage this year, yesterday revealing that she was “very much looking forward” to attending the track side spectacle at Flemington racecourse.
Lady Kitty is joined by a plethora of other stunning Aussie celebs also attending the cup today, including Rebecca Harding, Anna Heinrich and Brooke Hogan.
This isn’t the first time the royal has attended the race that stops the nation.
Lady Kitty was also a guest at the Melbourne Cup back in 2015, where she wore a beautiful white ensemble along with a sparkling silver and white headpiece.
Kitty is undeniably similar to her aunt Princess Diana, not only in her stunning looks but more importantly through her incredible work with charities.
In October last year, Lady Kitty attended Channel Seven’s annual telethon in Perth, and has also worked for Centrepoint, on behalf of an organisation that supports the young homeless community, which is also supported by Diana’s sons William and Harry.
Speaking about her Aunty previously to Vanity Fair, Lady Kitty said of her incredible relative: “I was so young [when Diana was alive]. There are only a few memories, but special memories and happy memories, and I’m so lucky to have those.”
It’s lovely to see the beautiful royal connection so close to home!
