And as it turns out, her look was very practical given what the day’s activities involved.

Indeed the 37-year-old royal got her hands dirty as she chatted and played with young scouts in attendance.

As a known enthusiast for early childhood development, the event was a particularly fitting one for Kate, who learnt about the Scouts pilot scheme for younger children, as well as partaking in activities such as painting and boat building.

The mum-of-three also let slip a few details about her young children, telling a guest that she was hoping her own children, George, Charlotte and Louis, would all become Scouts themselves.

Speaking to UK publication Hello! the guest said: “She wants her children to grow up in the Scouting movement, not just in school, because she tries doing things at home but there’s only so much you can do and you need to build relationships with other people.”

Kate also continued to say Prince George could be like a “little ambassador” for the movement.

Kate herself was a member of the Brownies as a child. Much like Scouts, Kate would attend regular meetings and earn badges by participating in activities such as community service, as well as getting creative and exploring other cultures.

Kate’s visit to the Scouts on Thursday came about as per a request from the Duchess herself.

According to People, a royal spokesperson said Kate approached them to get the ball rolling.

“She approached them and said she wanted to be involved. They take children from all backgrounds into the great outdoors. They came up with the idea she should be a volunteer,” they said.

We’ll be waiting in anticipation for Prince George’s debut as a Scout now!
